Wedding in the Maldives

Wedding in the Maldives

The Maldives islands are located in the Indian Ocean in the Indian Ocean , literally, some of the world’s most beautiful islands. Their breathtakingly beautiful Turquoise blue waters and white sandy beaches make this destination a perfect backdrop for your once-in-a-lifetime wedding.
There is one problem though – if you or your betrothed are not a resident of the Maldives, you’re not allowed to get legally married here. If you really want to hold a wedding on the islands, your alternatives are to legally marry in another close-by destination such as Sri Lanka and then celebrate your festivities in the Maldives. Or, you can also get legally married in another destination and then just put on a wedding for show on the islands. There are plenty of beautiful resorts to choose from to make either happen.

In addition to the resorts where you can hold your ceremony, there’s plenty to do on the Maldives for your family, friends and wedding party. If you love the water, and who wouldn’t, it’s a paradise for snorkeling and diving. If you just want the island because of it’s privacy, then the Maldives is perfect for you too.
But let’s get back to those views, which you can use in your wedding photos. There is neon blue water that has washed up on the shores of the beaches, especially in Vaadhoo, one of the Raa Atoll islands in the Maldives and was a result of a chemical reaction called bioluminescence, which occurs when a micro-organism in sea water is disturbed by oxygen.
Veligandu Island Beach is also one of the most beautiful beaches in the world with its white sand and turquoise water. That makes this area one of the biggest paradises for snorkeling and diving.
If you would prefer to tour with your wedding party, then make sure not to miss The Malé Friday Mosque or the Malé Hukuru Miskiy, one of the oldest and most ornate mosques in the city of Malé, Kaafu Atoll, Maldives. While you wait for the festivities to start, take in some history of the islands and make to visit the National Museum, which was established on the National Day of the Maldives.

Of course, there’s so much to put together if you’re going to host a mock wedding in the Maldives or a wedding reception. Either way, contact your travel agent to put together this amazing once-in-a-lifetime experience.
